The Town of Needham invites the public to a Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 27th at Memorial Field at 11:45 am. Prior to the ceremony, observances will be held at various memorials around Town.
The schedule is as follows:
• 8:15 am - Remembrance Event at the Public Safety Complex
• 9 am - St. Mary’s Cemetery. Includes a flag raising, rifle salute, wreath laying and short speaking program

9:45 am - Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Cefalo Drive. Includes a flag raising, rifle salute, wreath laying and short speaking program
• 10:30 am - Needham Cemetery. Includes a flag raising, rifle salute, wreath laying and short speaking program
• 11:15 am - Town Common. Includes a flag raising, rifle salute, wreath laying and short speaking program
• 11:45 am - Memorial Park. This ceremony also includes remarks by elected officials including Select Board Chair Kevin Keane, Senator Becca Rausch, and Representative Denise Garlick, as well as by a student speaker from St. Sebastian's, the National Society of Daughters of the Revolution, and VFW Post Commander Timothy Dooher, among others.
**PLEASE NOTE: all ceremonies will include a rifle salute, and the 11:45 am ceremony will include a flyover from the U.S. Coast Guard. As a result, there will be significant but temporary loud noise.
The public is also invited to help place flags at the graves of Needham veterans on Wednesday, May 22 at 4:30 pm at St. Mary’s Cemetery. For questions, please contact Kristin Scoble at kscoble@needhamma.gov.
