Property Tax Relief Application for the Elderly and Disabled

Steps to Apply for the Elderly And Disabled Taxation Fund and Property Tax Assistance Fund


  1. Application forms are available in the Town Assessors Office, Town Treasurer’s Office, Tax Collector’s Office, Council on Aging, Needham Public Library.  You may also find an application on the Town's website
  2. Applications for assistance must be filed with the Town Assessor’s Office by the deadline.
  3. Submission; applications for assistance for Fiscal Year 2025 must be filed with the Town Assessor’s Office for submission to the Taxation Aid Committee and must be received no later than April 30, 2025.
  4. All application received prior to the submission deadline are forwarded to the Taxation Aid Committee
  5. By State Law, all financial documentation must be provided with the application.
  6. The Taxation Aid Committee reviews all applications, and makes awards in an equitable manner based on the eligibility and relative need, and the amount of funds available for the year
  7. The funds will be distributed on a need basis as determined by the Committees’ application of the eligibility requirements. On an annual basis, the applications will be reviewed and distribution will take place in an equitable manner based on the applicants meeting the guidelines and relative need from the funds available for that year.
  8. Notification of the Taxation Aid Committee decisions for Fiscal Year 2025 will be mailed on or before May 30, 2025.
