Staffed by the Community Housing Specialist, the Housing Office of the Planning and Community Development Department supports the Town of Needham’s efforts to expand, maintain and improve affordable housing opportunities. 

The Community Housing Specialist helps coordinate potential affordable housing initiatives, provides staff support to the Needham Affordable Housing Trust including administering the Small Repair Grant Program, supports efforts to implement the strategies recommended by the Needham Housing Plan, monitors the continued affordability of several subsidized housing developments as well as the eligibility of tenants and homeowners for affordable units, ensures compliance with state and federal funding sources, and responds to inquiries from the public relative to housing issues.
